cast-on

Members of the Hand Knitters Guild Victoria will be helping out at the Crafternoon for Seniors Week at the City Library on Thursday 13 October between 2pm and 5pm in the Gallery space on level one. Come along and learn how to cast-on and start knitting or bring your knitting and hang-out or get some help with a project you are working on. There will be some needles and yarn available for you to use to get you started or bring your own set.

Knitting is a great activity for anyone but even better if you have a bit of time available to improve your skills and try new techniques. An added bonus is the therapeutic effect of knitting that include stress release and the opportunity to socialise. We think it’s good fun as well.

Seniors Week at the City Library has been organised to be a part of the Victorian Seniors Festival. The Festival is an initiative of Seniors Online, a Victorian Government website for older Victorians. The Victorian Seniors Festival (now in its 34th year) has over 1500 free or low cost events taking place across Victoria during October. Visit their website to see what else is on or pick up a print copy at a library.

The City Library is located in 253 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, between Swanston and Elizabeth Streets. Drop by in the afternoon on the 13th October and say hello.
