The next Hand Knitters Guild Sit and Knit meeting will be at Ross House at 247 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, on the 7 July from 2pm-5pm. Join us for a catch-up on Guild news and to share some knitting time or show off a finished project. The library will be open for borrowing and there will be a 30 minute demonstration by Joan on turning a sock heel. Visitors and their knitting are welcome.

The Sheep and Wool Show is on at the show grounds in Bendigo from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 July, 2013. Promising over 250 stalls of wool products this is a great opportunity to stock up on yarn while enjoying daily fashion shows at 11am and 2pm, food stalls and sheep sales and demonstrations. The popular Women of Wool event this year is a high tea with special guest, fashion designer Collette Dinnigan, at 11am on the 19th for $65, but you need to make a booking.

Entry to the show is $20 or get a 3 day pas for $50, $15 for pensioners or $25 for 3 days and children under 14 are free. Check the website for family rates. The train takes about 2 hours and there is a free shuttle running from the station to the show grounds, alternatively parking is $5 per day. For more information visit the Wool & Sheep Show website.

The National Wool Museum in Geelong is host to the annual¬†Scarf Festival¬†now in its 5th year in Geelong following its beginnings at Craft Victoria. The Wool Museum invited the Hanknitter’s Guild to give demonstrations on Thursdays during the Scarf Festival. Visit us on Thursdays between 10am-4pm at the National Wool Museum and join in the knitting. The Scarf Festival is on from June 7 to August 25 2013.
