Charity Knitting – Members of the Handknitters Guild knit for assorted charities and support community projects where knitting is involved. We make :-
- Anglicare Squares which are sewn up into blankets
- Face cloths and knee rugs for indigenous people in nursing homes in Alice Springs
- Orphan pouches for the native animal victims of the summer bushfires
Patterns for Charity Knitting are available in the library or email Lindy – lindyjoy@bigpond.net.au to request a pattern.
The Handknitters Guild donates wool and yarn to the Alice Springs Beanie Festival. The materials are used to teach indigenous members of the communities how to make beanies. Contact us if you would like to donate unused yarn(s) or patterns.
